Authenticate Your Packaging
Changes in pharmaceutical packaging and distribution over the past decade has driven the need for more technologies to track, verify, and combat counterfeiting.

Working together with a variety of technologies, Logic Pakaging is pleased to offer security solutions for your folding carton packaging. Aside from Source Tagging with external assets, such as Sensormatic's, RFID, labels, and data matrix codes, Logic Pakaging offers the invisible technologies built into the printing inks used with our presses. Such security innovations use taggants, micro-shift elements, and micro printing. The question is, what work's best to anti-counterfeit your product in the markets ? Here are few popular approaches from our printing press

Taggant Authentication
A taggant is a microscopic or nano material with custom encoding that authenticates your product's packaging. We like to think of it as a fingerprint, which is virtually impossible to copy. The taggants are mixed into our printing inks we use on press with any color and transferred in a normal conventional manner. Typically, a concentrated spot on the folding carton is used for the "taggant security ink." Such taggants can be used for purposes to identify time and location, sizes, descriptions, and much more. Taggants require a hand-held detector for tracing and identification.

Color Shift Inks
A technology commonly used in our printing processes are Color-shift inks that appear as two or more distinct colors when viewed from differing angles. Verification and tracing is achieved by tilting the packaging to visually see the specified color(s). We can configure different color combinations to complement the existing design of the packaging. Color-shift inks are tightly controlled to ensure the products are used only in genuine circumstances and under strict codes of conduct.

Micro Printing

Halography
Holograms are very popular and primarily used as first level identification, designed to enable authentication at point of inspection. Combining other technologies, such as micro print and color shift inks, are also commonly used with holograms. The designated area in the packaging is clearly visible with a standard magnifier, but invisible to the nake eye.

Security Tear
Logic Pakaging also may can offer a security tear solution with your folding carton packaging. Authetication is achieved by making it impossible to open the package without tearing or destroying the security area of the folding carton. The removal of the security area would expose a void or tampered symbol or message printed on the underneath panel. The security area is concealed with a perforated flap that is glued together. The original tear cannot be reused once the consumer or counterfeiter opens the package, exposing any threat of refilling or resealing of the package.
